About The Connecticut Emergency Medicine Medical Student Council

The CT MSC was established in 2020 as a means to connect students interested in emergency medicine from the Medical Schools of UConn, Quinnipiac, and Yale to each other and to promote engagement with institutions such as the Emergency Medicine Residents' Association (EMRA) and Connecticut Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (CCEP).

One of our primary goals is to host inter-institutional events to enhance educational and networking opportunities for medical students across the state, through close collaboration with each School's Emergency Medicine Interest Group (EMIG). We also seek to generate an avenue for students to become involved in health policy, advocacy, and community service events pertaining to emergency medicine and important public health initiatives.

If interested, contact us for ways to get involved (ct.em.msc@gmail.com) and follow us on Twitter (@CT_EM_MSC)

Kirsten Lalli

Executive Chair

Yale School of Medicine

I’m originally from New York, attended Colgate University for my undergraduate degree, the National Intelligence University for my master’s degree, and am currently a third year Army HPSP student at the Yale School of Medicine. Prior to medical school, I spent nearly a decade as an intelligence officer and federal agent with the Department of Defense.  At YSM, I’m co-leader of our EMIG, a student government representative, and a mentor for undergraduates. I plan to serve as an Army EM doc because I love the pace, variety, and challenge that comes with the unpredictability of the field, and the versatility of the skill set.  I am particularly interested in wilderness and operational medicine, as well as human performance in extreme environments.  In my free time, I train jiu jitsu and Muay Thai, am a personal trainer, try to keep up with my friends in endurance sports, and bake.

I am a third-year medical student at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. I previously served on this board as the Quinnipiac Liaison and I’m excited to return as Vice Chair. My emergency medicine interests center on pre-hospital care, geriatrics, and management/operations. I received my BA from the University of Florida and MPH from the Yale School of Public Health. When not on rotations, you can find me hiking with my husband and pup, sailing on the sound, or planning a travel adventure. I’m looking forward to connecting EM interested students with opportunities to explore the field!
